<a href="http://java.com/en/index.jsp" onClick="this.target=\'_blank\'" rel="nofollow"><img src="/tour/BU/default/NoJava.jpg" alt="Click here to Download Java" ></a> Catholic Charities is proud to present this virtual tour of My Sisters\' Place as a way for us to showcase our shelter while protecting the privacy and safety of our clients.My Sisters\' Place opened in 1985 to answer an unmet need in the community to help women fleeing domestic violence.We are one of only two confidential domestic violence shelters serving the East Valley.We go beyond shelter and empower women.Our caring counselors work with women to create self-directed plans to empower and educate them about the effects of domestic violence so they can live a life free of abuse for themselves and their children.We provide financial and life-skills education, counseling and victim advocacy services.We have special child-centered programs, including art and pet therapy, for their children.The need is great.Arizona ranks among the highest in the nation for deaths due to domestic violence. Each year, Arizona shelters receive more than 25,000 calls from women trying to escape abuse.Unfortunately, as many as two-thirds of these women are turned away because there simply are not enough services available.My Sisters\' Place is proud to provide more than 6,000 nights of safety to more than 350 women and children fleeing domestic violence, each and every year.With your help, we could do so much more.Thank you for taking our virtual tour.
